Microgaming gears up to divest a major share of its online gaming properties

The Isle of Man-based company has struck a deal to hand over their Quickfire Aggregation Network and other holdings to Games Global Limited, a startup from 2021, for an undisclosed price.

Formed in 2021 by Walter Bugno, the ex-chief at IGT, and Tim Mickley, a former finance head at Playtech and SafeCharge, Games Global embarked on an exciting journey.

The acquisition highlighted specific assets and is on track for Q2 2022 completion, with Games Global funding the purchase themselves.

With the acquisition, Games Global will take over nearly 3,000 game titles , numerous boutique gaming studios, the Quickfire aggregation platform, and a progressive jackpot network that has rewarded over €1.2 billion in wins.

Over 260 clients from more than 1,000 gaming enterprises have flocked to Games Global, which boasts a workforce of over 1,100 across Europe, Oceania, Africa, and the profitable Americas.

Legacy sites utilizing the original Microgaming Viper software remain unaffected by the deal, as stated by Microgaming.

In prior statements before departing, CEO John Coleman commented: \"This exciting deal has been a long time coming, offering new growth avenues for both Microgaming and Games Global. We announce now to ensure clarity and ample notice for partners and stakeholders.\"

He added that while Microgaming focuses on its core strengths and extends its market reach through new business and system integration, Games Global will acquire the Quickfire game IP and distribution channels.
